Today we took 45 students from the Harmonics choir to Liverpool 1 to showcase their talents. This was their second visit to the city centre to busk.

All students were a credit to the academy and the music department. They were amongst other buskers and professional musicians. Our Choir really stepped up and embraced their performance. They sang our academy song 'We never give up'  loud and proud. Students also performed solo pieces and showcased their growing confidence.

We had a few lovely email sent to the Head of School about the students perfomance;

Dear Mr Lancaster

I wanted to drop a quick email to comment on how wonderful your choir were singing at Liverpool 1 yesterday. My 6 month old son and I were drawn to the Christmas tree by the sound of one of your soloists and we remained there for the duration of the choir’s performance. The singing was beautiful and Sebastian and myself enjoyed singing and dancing along. As a teacher myself (primary and music lead) I know how stressful it can be taking large groups of children out of school and how much practice time goes into making performances such as this happen. This time of year is so busy for music departments! The behavior of your students was perfect, even after their performance had finished and I know they brought a lot of joy to shoppers in the city yesterday. You must have some very proud music teachers in school. A big well done to all children and staff involved; especially the soloists and guitar players! Thank you for adding to our afternoon.

Best regards

Natalie Collins

Hi Dave,

I have been meaning to contact you since your students performed last week in the Catholic Schools Choir competition.

Firstly, we were delighted that your school took part as they have not done before. They were a wonderful group of students and I enjoyed speaking to them.

Secondly, they had clearly been very well prepared by your music staff as they performed brilliantly. I commented to your music teacher that you could tell they had worked together on the St Nicholas' school song, as they believed what they were singing 100%. They sang with great conviction; lots of people including myself commented that it was very moving to see children singing with such pride and emotion.

Please pass on my thanks and congratulations again to your students and staff.

Best wishes
